Since 1955 Eastland have created classic casual shoes and also one of the last large-scale shoemakers to produce footwear in the United States. The original Eastland factory was located a few blocks from the famous L.L. Bean store in Freeport. In 1964, the company opened a plant in the largely agricultural western Maine town of Fryeburg.
